Fred Watmough (Coral and Ivory)Fred Watmough is the main sculptor represented by Dragon Creations. He is an artist of astounding skill and depth that has very few current and ongoing avenues for his art to be viewed. The original purpose for this web site was to give Fred more exposure, let the world see his coral sculptures. Sculptures with intricacy that is unbelievable. That we are aware of Fred is the only sculptor of this type of coral. A beautiful dense coral with every color of the rainbow coming to life in the natural light. Living on the Queen Charlotte Islands, while one of the most beautiful places in the world, is as close to the end of the road as a populated place can get. There are two of Fred Watmoughs' pieces on display locally at Gracie's Bed and Breakfast. Fred has recently made a donation of one of his pieces to the Children Hospital Auction. Vancouver will soon have a coral sculpture on display. More details will follow...
Tom Argue (Coral, Ivory, and Wood)At the moment, most of his coral and ivory work is jewelry, but Tom works in many mediums. Amazing pieces, sure to make a statement. He also works in yew wood. The color and depth of the wood itself is brought out by his skill, enhancing what nature created. Dense duo toned wood is absolutely stunning with the free form style begging for each piece to be touched. Tom is branching out to other mediums and new art forms within the coral, limestone, ivory and yew wood. Keep checking back to see where his passion has carried him. The winter is the best time for his art to take precedence. Raw material is being looked at ,again as the weather turns, tune in soon to see the new additions.
Michelle Argue (Semi-Precious Stones and Sterling Silver)Michelle (Watmough) Argue works with semi-precious stones and silver wire wrapping. Most of her wire wrapping is done with a flare all her own, in Sterling Silver. Yew wood and coral are incorporated into a few of her pieces, gold has been used on request. All links in chains and earrings are entirely hand wrapped. The healing properties of all the stones are available, custom work is welcome. The stones are left in the natural shape, polished to show the inner beauty but leaving what nature made in the forefront. Silver is used as a frame to show off the shape and attributes but not to become the star of the show. Agates are being polished as I type and many new wraps have been making their appearance. Silver weaving is in the process as well, but not ready to be viewed.
Chris DobranskiChris is fairly new to Queen Charlotte Islands but is doing some impressive work. Chris carves in a few mediums but his favorite is wood. He has been carving for 8 years now and his pieces have made their way far and wide in the hands of their happy owners. He has been hard at work carving on his own pieces as well as working with other artists. Beautiful pieces that must be seen. Chris has sold quite a bit of art and like a typical artist was sold without ever getting pictures, but there are many pictures of his work in many different mediums and he continues to make adventures into new areas all of the time. Working with different artists and spending time with Fred Watmough has strengthened his work. Each new piece is an adventure and discovery of new boundaries.
A mix of artists and mediums. Using the beauty of nature and creating a new vision. The art, regardless of medium, allow for a moment in time, the viewer to see through the eyes of the artist. Coral, Ivory, Wood, Stone, and Silver, most of the pieces are entirely made from local BC natural raw materials. Carved, Sculpted, Wrapped and formed many artistic avenues to explore.
